Rated 3 out of 5 by from Submersible Pumo I use this pump at 85 ft in water with high sulphur. The last one I purchase lasted only about a 2 years. It has a 3 year warranty and Tractor Supply handed me a new one in exchange. I contacted the manufacturer they were extremely helpful in the process as well. I hope this new one lasts longer. I use the pump to pump water into a 3000 gal cistern which I use to water my lawn. It handle the job nicely. I can't give it a higher rating b/c it only lasted for a short time. The last 2 pumps I bought lasted about 5 years.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Faulty check valve The first pump was replaced in Jan. 2019 it ran for 8 months then failed replace with another it failed within day but reason for both failures is that water check valve in first pump came loose and stuck 40’ up in water pipe and was not noticed missing when second pump installed which caused second pump failure due to check valve restriction in water pipe. The pump worked well we before failuer

Can you use pvc pipe for the drop pipe or does it have to be galvanized pipe

Asked by: John 4570
No, it is not recommended to use the black roll pipe with the barbed end fittings. It is not recommended to use the schedule #40 PVC plastic pipe that you glue together, either. The reason is that the black roll pipe and the glued together ends could separate in the well. The recommendation is to use the schedule #80, that is threaded on the ends, like the galvanized pipe. The galvanized pipe is recommended, but it is heavier and does have the tendency to corrode with chemicals in the ground water.
