I've had this for a month and so far so good. Setting up wasn't too difficult And the app is very Intuitive. The cut is very clean . The only reason it isn’t perfect, is the fact it can’t get right up to an edge that has a wall. So I still have to do a little bit of edging with the Weedwhacker, but it is very minimal and doesn’t take that much time.

Bought this after moving into a new house. It was easy to set up and programmed using the cloud. My yard has lots of trees so it can lose signal at time but it is usually able to finish the yard with no problem. It leaves the yard looking great with straight lines.

This review was submitted as a sweepstakes entry. I've been running the 420IQ for about 12 months now. Setting up wasn't too bad and setting the virtual boundaries was surprisingly easy. The yard is about 1/4 acre with a couple obstacles and 95% of the time it has no issues. It does struggle with traction in soft spots, small holes, or loose debris such as pine cones /moss... but I also understand it wasn't designed for that. It's also be nice if the app did push notifications for when it gets stuck, instead of me having to check the app. That being said I don't regret it at all. The lawn looks immaculate almost always and the amount of time and effort I've saved is priceless. I'm considering installing one at our rental house now too. Hopefully in the future they could improve traction, docking accuracy, and cutting distance from edges (still have to string trim about 8"-12"+ around borders)

I've had my trusty 430x for 5 years now and it has given me great service. However, I had been thinking of upgrading to a 420iq for some time in order to eliminate the need for a boundary wire and leverage some newer features. I was hesitant at first to rely only on the Husqvarna Cloud but my concerns were unwarranted. The 420iq is a major upgrade. The ability to mow the perimeter and set a pattern not only results in a more consistent cut but I am now able to cut my entire lawn in just over 5 hours ... something that used to take almost 2 full days. The cutting height is now more adjustable and I can have different settings for different work areas. Best of all, I can have transit zones that do not get cut (a recent requirement). I knew I would be happy with another Husqvarna mower but I did not expect to gain this much from an upgrade! This review was submitted as a sweepstakes entry.

I bought my Husqvarna 420 iq July 2025 because I live in North Texas and my grass grows so fast on my .67 size lot plus we have fire ants, red bugs and crayfish. I love my mower and how easy to maintain my yard looking great everyday. I appreciate the autonomy because I have a busy schedule. My lawn has some uneven parts and also the occasional sticks from the trees in my yard and the mower handles them like a champ. I also have a slope in my front yard and the mower does fine on it at an angle. The cut is clean and the tires or the blades does not tear up my lawn like a traditional mower or ride mower. The mower is efficient when mapping out its path and the navigation is better then what I expected with a robot mower. There is a slight learning curve with the app and I wish there was better mapping tools like adding a square or circle then editing that shape but I hope in the future app updates. The birds and bunnys in my yard don't mind the mower either since it's quiet. I love that I can cut my yard at night as well. It has optional headlights that you can turn off or on so you can see where the mower is at night. Overall I love my mower and I know you will love it too!

Had a bumpy start, but it got straightened out and so far so good for the second year. Suggestion, put a camera on the unit so we can check the status of where it’s located and also a picture if anybody takes it. Also allow a function to ring a bell to scare away the animals that seem to gravitate toward the Mower. If you are changing waypoint, it would be nice to be able to start the mower from where you left off as opposed to the beginning. Can’t wait for the third year to see if it’s still performs as well as it has been doing. It definitely is a time saver.

I bought this mower last summer and it was the easiest decision ever. It’s one less thing I have to worry about and spend time on each week. Now I have more time to work on my house and other projects while “Mowgli” mows every inch of my 1 acre yard. The only service I’ve had to do is replace the blades. The robot always is on schedule, even ahead of the schedule I set for it at times, and knows exactly the spot it left off when it had to go charge itself. Best decision I’ve made yet.

After using the Husqvarna Automower 420iQ to maintain roughly one acre around my home, I can honestly say it has been one of my favorite technology purchases in recent years. The initial setup was a little more challenging than I expected. Newer robotic mowers from some competing brands often include additional AI features and sensors that can make installation and mapping easier. However, many of those models are also more limited in the amount of property they can effectively maintain. The 420iQ requires a bit more patience during setup, but once everything is configured and running correctly, it performs exceptionally well. What impressed me most is how consistently it keeps the lawn looking freshly cut. Instead of spending hours mowing every week during the peak growing season, the mower quietly handles the work on its own. Living in the South, where grass seems to grow nonstop throughout the summer, this has been a huge benefit. There are few things more satisfying than watching this little machine mow the yard on a hot afternoon while I'm comfortably inside enjoying the air conditioning—or waking up in the morning knowing it has been working while I slept. The mower navigates my property reliably and keeps the main area around my house looking great with very little intervention from me. Once I got past the learning curve of setup, maintenance has been minimal and the results have been excellent. Overall, I am very glad I purchased the Husqvarna Automower 420iQ. While it may not offer the easiest setup process compared to some newer AI-focused competitors, it makes up for it with dependable performance and the ability to handle larger mowing areas. Fantastic mower. Easy to set up. I have it mowing about 2 acres, on a schedule. I never even think about mowing now. I look out at my lawn and see the perfect rows, and know it mows through the night. Perfectly mown lawn every day! The blades are easy to replace, and they cut like a razor blade, because that's what they are. I can mow in the wet lawn knowing it will never get clogged. Excellent purchase! Now I can concentrate on other things instead of mowing! I did a cost analysis of a riding mower vs. this, and this was the winner. So far so good. I have ~0.4 acre of complex yard. I set it up using the cloud EPOS system (I did not install the EPOS reference station). it took 2 days to install, most of it running power to the charge station (you should expect a few days of adjusting the maps to get the edges mowed well as well), but after that it has worked perfectly.

I've had this mower now for over three years, and it's been great. This one has a border wire, which I thought would be a pain to set up. You can run it on the lawns surface, but with dogs, I thought it best to bury it a few inches. I used my edger to dig a shallow trench and did it easily. We left for a vacation in live in the south and you can almost hear the grass growing in summer. We left for a two-week vacation in Europe, and when we returned-- a lawn under control! Just a little edging with a string trimmer and it really keeps up nicely. Totally worth the cost and initial effort. It's gas-free a has probably paid for itself in lawn care maintenance service not needed. Great product!

First mower was a 450XH i picked up in 2020 becuase I traveled so much. Travel stopped pretty quickly with covid but I never regretted my purchase. I have about .67 acres of mowable yard and in spring of 2025 I upgraded to the 420 IQ primarily for the wireless capabilities (finding broken wire every sping was not fun - and required hoursr of tracing signal to find the breaks). 420 IQ has exceeded expectations, getting stuck significantly less than the 450 XH, and the mowable patterns are awesome. Immediate comments from the neighbors when it started mowing patterns after 5 years of the 450 XH boucing around like a ping pong ball. Base station install was simple enough, I mounted to a 4x4 I buried 3ft in the backyard and gave a concrete footing.

Have had this a year now and have been very happy. Leaves the yard looking great. Nice cross patterned lines that are the talk of the street. After a little adjustments and learning this is mostly hands off. A little trimming every other week and looks professionally done.

Chose this Robotic Mower because it was able to be adjusted from 1" to 4" height over other brands that could not. I have Zoysia in the backyard and St.Augustine in the front. Most mowing companies do not have a reel mower and if they did would charge quite a bit. Because this is light weight it gives a very low and clean 1" cut leaving my backyard looking fantastic. I no longer need to mow every weekend during the warm months and simply need to edge and weed eat every 2-3 weeks which takes less than hour. It's given me so much more time back with the yard looking great all of the time. Does take a weekend to get things mapped and dialed in but after that it's easy to keep updated. Had it over a year now and still running strong. As long as you do not allow the grass to grow too tall it works great. Need to take cover off to clean extra good to fix error codes from time to time. New software update does require a painful step by step power cycle to clear the lift sensor error now that previously did not exist but overall happy with the investment. And I bought it before the cost came down as well.

I've had a Husqvarna mower for about 7 years now. I first started with the 430x and decided to go wire free last year. The 420iq has been running great for a year now. I love how easy it is to set areas, navigate around things and just let it run without my having to do anything. Plus the ability to do different patterns in nice!

We have had our Automower for ~12 months and have been very happy with it. Our lawn looks perfect and we don’t have to do anything other than “rescuing” the mower every few weeks (usually if we forget something on the lawn, or a branch falls etc). We found we had to dial in the lawn mapping over the first few weeks of use, but afterwards it has worked very well and has stayed consistent. We have tried a few line design settings and recently settled on the random pattern, which makes a nice uniform cut length and no lines. This iQ420 was a replacement for our 2016 450X. Our old mower was still working great, but being 10 years old I was concerned about the inground loop wire surviving much longer plus the new iQ models had enough new features for me to make the jump. The experience with the new mower has been wonderful. Not having to worry about the loop wires, or lightning is a relief and the fact that the new mower stripes the grass was the icing on the cake! This mower was easy to setup, we bought a game controller to use with our phone to set up the work areas. We’ve had the new model almost a year now and couldn’t be happier. If you’re on the fence, make the jump, you won’t regret it.

This is a great, time-saving mower. It gets my hill very well. It doesn't get right along the house, but I can easily mow that on my own. It makes mowing so much faster and easier by doing 95% of the work. It goes on its own and navigates well so I don't have to do anything now that it's set up. Highly recommend.
