People own Salmon Faverolles for their unique look, silliness and their steady egg production. These bearded beauties are great docile birds that are very friendly and easily handled. This dual-purpose breed originated in France and became the premier meat and egg-laying breed at the Paris market in the late 1800's. Now they are most often raised for exhibition and novelty. The salmon color is a unique color pattern exclusive to the Faverolle and is the most prominent in. This medium sized chicken combines early maturity, hardiness and great egg-laying with fine meat quality. Salmon Favorolles do tend to be broody, are great setters and excellent mothers. They are very hardy in all climates, especially cold with their feathered shanks and feet and do well in confinement.Guarantee of 90% accuracy on all sexed poultry.

Sweet birds that like to talk. Funny birds with their feathers feet. Nice little eggs to start. They are more docile then our Wyandottes, and are very cautious. Don't mind the snow.

Actually my 3rd experience except I wasn't able to get my chicks with my 2nd due to the post office not calling me, giving improper tracking, so they Parrished. But my replacements came and are very healthy happy thriving little fluff ball's.

Bird Loss

All of the chicks arrived alive but one arrived with a swollen eye and another not doing well. I have lost one bird and multiple trips to a vet that takes chickens to find all 9 remaining birds tested positive for Coccidiosis. I haven’t even had them a week and they have only been in the brooder (brand new brooder built for these birds) as I have had to provide around the clock care. I do not have other birds. It likely came from the place they were hatched. This process has been heart breaking and expensive I DO NOT RECOMMEND BIRDS FROM HOOVERS HATCHERY. The quality of these birds is low and the heart break is not worth it. I do not recommend for first time or new chicken owners.

chicks were to be pickedup at postoffice on Thursday but were delivered to my home on Wednesday and left by my gate in the weather.I was not home so i dont know how long left in weather it was cold. 6 of the chicks diedwithin 24 hours
