If you are looking for a diverse flock to fill your basket with brown eggs, this is the assortment for you! Breeds included do well in confinement or free ranged, are friendly, docile birds that are hardy in both cold and hot climates and produce well. This is the first time I have ordered chicks thru Tractor Supply and I was pleased with the order process and the pricing. I have had the chicks a week and a half now and so far no problems. I got a nice assortment but this is a first having gotten chicks from Hoover Hactchery so I am not familiar with some of their breeds so I really won't know what I have till they are a little older. They are an active bunch but not as vocal as some I have had which is a good thing since they are in the utility room right now till it warms up and they are a little bigger. This was great being that I could get 10 chicks most of the time orders of 25 are the minimum and free shipping on top was the icing on the cake. I highly recommend this site and will use it again.

Disappointing

I paid extra to get all 10 female birds, and now that they are old enough to tell the sex, I now know that I have 4 roosters and 6 hens. 60% success rate is not very good in my opinion. I have fed 4 roosters for 5 months, what a waste of money! I will go elsewhere next time.

ALL DEAD ON ARRIVAL!

Extremely disappointed! These poor creatures were shipped standard shipping, FIVE DAYS!!!! Any other hatchery that I have used has overnighted or at the most two days! Not surprisingly they were all dead on arrival!
I'm still waiting to be reimbursed, over a week now!!!
I'll still continue to shop at TSC but not for chicks!!!!!

I didn't receive an email that they had shipped until after I picked them up from the post office and unfortunately one had passed away en route. Aside from the deceased chick, they were alert and healthy. I made sure that they knew how to eat and drink and that they had a heat source with space to move from the heat. Unfortunately after they were old enough to move outside they were predated on as I didn't have them as secure as I had thought so I didn't get to see them grow into layers
