Hoover's Hatchery CAPP Calico Princess™ Chickens are a specialty hybrid recently created in the Czech Republic. Robust and hardy, they adapt easily to many different climates and environments. They thrive in either free range or confinement and are great foragers. These chickens are excellent layers of about 290 large eggs per year and can be known to be broody, making excellent mothers if allowed to sit. Calico Princess™ plumage is topaz colored with feathers alternating in color between the light red-orange or darker red-orange and white, making it seem like a glimmering topaz stone. Docile, friendly and easy to handle, this breed is a great addition to your backyard flock. Hens mature at about 4-5 months and are usually good winter layers.
