- A: We are sorry but 10 is the fewest number we can ship safely. You may be able to find a friend or neighbor that would be interested in splitting an order with you? Baby chicks can not carry bird flu. You would need to keep your chicks and your flock secluded from other wild birds through the migratory periods in the spring to help prevent infection. Great chicks

Got 11 instead of 10. One was sick, the rest arrived in good health conditions and grew fabulous in one month. Unfortunately I could not pick females only because the choice was not available, but I believe I might have 2 females. The rest are roosters.

Unfortunately, all chicks were DOA. Accidents happen, however these chicks were shipped with the bare minimum insulation in a overly ventilated box for the weather conditions. Hoover's cannot control USPS distribution center delay's, but they certainly could have taken more care in the packaging of the chicks and the decision to ship in sub-par weather conditions. The reason for the 1-star review is due to a refund not being issued well over 10 business days after calling TSC. Per TSC, they are restricted from issuing refunds from orders placed to Hoover's Hatchery - refunds can only be issued by Hoover's. This is bad policy. If TSC lists an item/live poultry for sale on their website, accepts payment on behalf of the third-party seller, communicates to the buyer the order details, then TSC should make it right and issue refunds to the customer. TSC should be the one's to make it right, and then work directly with their supplier (Hoover's) to return monies owed.

2 ORDERS first 20 arrived- 8 dead-photo available-5 died within 4 hours. Ended up with 6. 2nd order not received. TO NOTE..I've raised chicks for 70 years.
