Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great 115V welder It has been a very long time since Ive struck an arc. I'm retired from nearly 44 years in the precision machining business. I have found out retirement 'aint what I thought it would be'. I stayed busy with a wood shop for quite awhile but finally got bored with it. Decided to add a little metal work in the mix. I do not have 220 in my shop readily available, so I started researching 110v machines. This one had some of the best reviews out there. But what really sold me was, my friend and neighbor, who owns a garage and equipment repair service has an older model (Handler 135 I believe) and he told me they had thrown everything in the book at it and it still purrs like a kitten. They own more welders and oxy/acet units than I can keep up with. They use it all, but when he told me this little unit got more use than any of the other, stronger, larger units ............. well that was good enough for me. Bought it and the usual stuff to go along with it and Ive been grinning ever since.

what does MIG mean

Asked by: puddin
MIG welding stands for metal inert gas welding. It was originally used to weld non-ferrous metals such as aluminum. It eventually was used on steel too. It is a quicker method of welding as compared to other methods of welding.

What wattage Generator can power this welder so you can use it away from the shop?

Asked by: New operator
The Handler 140 requires at least a 20 amp 120 Volt service. This would be a 3000 watt 120V generator or a 5000 watt 120/240 volt generator. We do not recommend an inverter type generator.
