Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally a Hobart Replaced a cheap Chinese machine my wife bought and the difference is night and day. Had a Hobart at work before so know about it already. Thanked my wife profusely and then asked her to let me buy my own tools :)

what does MIG mean

Asked by: puddin
MIG welding stands for metal inert gas welding. It was originally used to weld non-ferrous metals such as aluminum. It eventually was used on steel too. It is a quicker method of welding as compared to other methods of welding.

What wattage Generator can power this welder so you can use it away from the shop?

Asked by: New operator
The Handler 140 requires at least a 20 amp 120 Volt service. This would be a 3000 watt 120V generator or a 5000 watt 120/240 volt generator. We do not recommend an inverter type generator.
