The ideal wood lathe for the hobby furniture maker. The G0842 Wood Lathe with Copy Attachment allows you to easily reproduce stair spindles or chair and table legs up to 8" in diameter by 32" long using a template or master workpiece. The copy attachment also drops out of the way for typical turning operations.

Powered by a 3/4 HP motor with ten spindle speeds, the G0842 allows for 37" of turning between centers between 600-2400 RPM.

Turn bowls or plates by mounting a workpiece to the 6" faceplate.

The adjustable 12" wide tool rest slides along the length of the lathe bed and easily locks in position where you want it.

Like all Grizzly lathes, the G0842 comes with a 1-year warranty covering parts and assuring the unit is free from factory defects. (Consumables are not covered by the warranty.)

The G0842 manual was written by our U.S. based Documentation Department and is packed with useful information. The complete and easy-to-read manual makes it easier to assemble and maintain your lathe.

The Grizzly Technical Support team is U.S. based. Parts for the lathe may be available online and shipped from the Grizzly parts warehouse in Springfield, MO.

Made in an ISO 9001 factory

I have had my lathe for a year now and the tailstock is so loose that it's allows the work piece to allows wobble and forget about drilling any big hole as the wobble is going to make impossible

We're sorry you’ve been dealing with loose tailstock. Most causes of tailstock play can usually be corrected with a few basic checks. First, make sure the tailstock is clamping firmly to the bed—if it isn’t locking solidly, the underside adjustment may need tightening. Some models also have gib or side screws that can be snugged slightly to remove lateral movement while keeping the tailstock sliding smoothly. It also helps to check the quill for any wobble, verify the anti‑rotation key is properly seated, and clean the Morse taper and center so they seat correctly. Bringing the centers together point‑to‑point is a good way to confirm alignment, and cleaning the lathe ways ensures the tailstock can lock down fully. When drilling larger holes, starting with a center drill, stepping up in bit sizes, and using peck‑drilling technique can also reduce deflection and help keep everything running true. We’re happy to help troubleshoot further and supply any parts that may be worn, and we want to get your lathe drilling true again. Please reach out to our Product Support team for assistance. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.

Lathe barely bolts to the Legs . Have to keep turning the lathe off to tighten the nuts ! I’m going to have to make my own stand for it ! Which sucks . I don’t recommend this lathe to any one !
