Rated 4 out of 5 by from A great but over priced product Been using this product for almost 4 years now. Its a great product but the price will bankrupt you if you have a lot of sheep. Producers Pride makes a similar product for $5/bag less. Compare the contents of both. The stores don't always stock either so talk to store manager to keep on hand. I only put minerals out when there's no rain or high humidity forcasted. Once it gets wet they dont want it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Came with the sheep; they love it I just got 6 sheep and the mineral came with them. They do love it and will scarf up several inches in a few days. I give it weekly and they seem to be doing well.

I think you have made this product too tasty. The sheep will not stop eating it until it is gone, and the most aggressive over eat it. How can I make sure they each get their share. My sheep are free ranging, and never penned.

Asked by: JCinArk
It is recommended that until they get use to the product you will need to remove it for a period of time each day. Usually they will start to only eat what they need .

If my sheep don’t eat feed do I just put this in a bucket? What type of feeder would I use

Asked by: New sheep owner
DuMor(R) Sheep Mineral is designed to be fed free choice, under shelter, to sheep as the sole source of mineral and salt while feeding on pasture or stored forage in dry lot. Control free choice feeding of this mineral at an intake up to 1.0 ounces (0.0625 lb) per head daily so as to provide not more than 0.7 mg of supplemental selenium per head per day.

Can alpacas eat this as well? I have to market lambs and two alpacas do i need to separate them so the lambs to only be able to get to it?

Asked by: Hailey04
No, it is not recommend for alpacas. You can’t limit the amount the alpacas eat and in addition there is no copper in this supplement. Sheep have a very low copper requirements and alpacas while they may not need as much as other hoofstock, they do need more than sheep.
