1 Answer
  • A: Here are the feeding directions: Bulls: Feed 1% to 1.5% of body weight to develop bulls on forage. To condition bulls, feed 0.5% to 1.0% of body weight at least 120 to 150 days before breeding season. Heifer Development and Stocker Cattle: After weaning, feed along with unlimited quantities of forage. Feeding rates vary according to quality of forage and desired gain: on lush forage feed 0.25% to 0.50% body weight; on transitional forage feed 0.75% to 1.0% body weight and on mature forage feed 1.0% to 1.5% body weight.

Q: I got a couple bred heifers that has fell off in weight will this help them put weight back on? Can I feed like a gallon twice a day per heifer?? An how long normally does it take before you start seeing progress??

1 Answer
  • A: Thanks for your inquiry. Yes, this may be used to support weight gain. It does depend on the quality and amount of forage they are eating per day as well. Feed to stocker and growing cattle at 0.5 to 1.5% of body weight along with adequate quantities of forage. The amount fed will depend on forage quality and desired gain.

Disappointed

The textured is preferred with my cows. The pellets are always musty smelling or moldy. TS made the decision not to stock the textured in the store so i have to order it. That makes no sense, but TS does not do a good job of properly stocking stores anyway, so it doesn't surprise me.
