Q: Has anyone added straw bedding with the insulated heated house?

1 Answer
  • Dog Palace Expert
A: Straw bedding should be kept several inches away from the heater. Also, the straw bedding tends to break down over time and can accumulate over time on the screen located on the back of the heater. We recommend cleaning the screen every two weeks if you are using straw bedding,

Q: The roof is not sliding into place. How do I make it work?

1 Answer
  • Dog Palace Expert
A: The plastic parts become more rigid in colder weather. We highly recommend bring the panels inside to warm up to room temperature before assembly. To get leverage on the last panel, we recommend pushing the back of the house against a wall such your garage and using one hand to slightly lift the roof while you push the last panel into place.

Q: We have a number of feral cats that we've managed to pretty well tame and get fixed.  They get a long and lay around together on the porch all day.  Is there any reason why we couldn't use this to keep the cats warm this winter? (Last winter was awful.)

A: This model has been used for feral cats.

Nice heated dog house, get help to assemble

We wanted a heated house for our (mostly outside) dog--large 70#s. Overall good quality, very sturdy and insulated, and the heater seems to work fine with the remote and the App (the app is Chinese based so CCP probably has all my info now--if they didn't already lol) but the app allows control from your phone and/or the included remote (we got the heater option). Its a beast of a dog house and the envy of neighbors (and their dogs). Comes from TS in two large boxes. One was kinda damaged, but everything inside was fine. No missing parts. The cons: You need two people to assemble... grab a beverage and tools because its frustrating...the parts are pre cut and fit, but getting the last piece in (the panel with the door) is a pain. I used ratchet straps to get tension on the pieces and a rubber mallet to gently tap them I so they would snap in but they kept popping out, after beverage number three and some choice words, I finally was able to get it together by pushing the back of the house up against a porch column and using that as resistance. Another beverage and a few more tries and it popped in place and I was able to screw it together--no issues since. Get someone to assist you and avoid frustration and beverage over consumption, swearing, etc.... It says its easier to assemble when the plastic is room temp, and it was cold outside so ymmv if you can assemble indoors or in warm weather. Couldn't do ours indoors because it wouldn't fit through the back door fully assembled. The dog didn't like the door and would not go in even with treat coaxing, and when he did go in he would get out and then not get back in--we don't have the smartest dog tho... Fix is to remove the bottom half of the door as recommended by instructions and now he goes in and out no problem and its nice and toasty with the thermostat on the heater. Heater keeps temp well, we set on 55-to 65 depending and because dog temp is higher than human and he has a coat. He comes inside when its real cold so haven't seen what it does in freezing temps, but sometimes he wants to stay in his own heated house instead of coming in the big house. Also works for when the wife is mad at me and I need a warm place to stay (j/k). We like it, the dog likes it, top marks from me.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Nice quality dog house

Can't stabilize the pieces when putting it together. Hard for one person to handle. Nice house with a nice heater. Door is too high for a short leg dog.
