Buff Brahma Live Chickens are appreciated and known for their size, strength and vigor. Not only recognized for their unique look with feathers on their shanks and toes, pea comb and smooth fitting plumage with fluffy dense down, these birds are also known for their practical qualities. Brahmas are extremely hardy chickens that are good layers for their size and an excellent winter layer, laying most of their eggs between October to May. The breed probably came to the United States on 19th Century sailing ships or it may have been developed here from other Asian breeds. Either way, Brahmas are enormous! Young hens weigh about 10 pounds with loose fluffy feathers that make them look even bigger. They do best on dry, well-drained soils in moist, cool climates, and are ideal for northern climates. Their docile, gentle, and quiet temperament makes them one of the best breeds around children. Hens begin to lay around 8-10 months of age and lay about 200 medium-sized brown eggs annually, tend to go broody in early summer, and are attentive mothers. Buff Brahmas are mostly golden brown with black wing, tail and hackle feathers. They make a great addition to any flock! Package Quantity: 10 Live Baby Chickens.

I bought the lone turkey + 9 chicks. I had requested 9 male chicks, thought I received 3 females & 6 males but actually received 7 females & 2 males. 2 of the females & 1 male turned out to be buff brahmas. We named the male Nugget & the 2 females Mini & Minor. The females jump into my arms any chance they get 💜 Nugget is a sweetheart too but just likes to be loved on & not picked up. I'm so happy they came with my order, thank you!

All chicks arrived alive and healthy. I was worried that I would lose a few because of shipping stress coming from Iowa to Arkansas . But all ten chicks arrived fine I'm in love with how cute they are. 👍 Im definitely ordering again.

We have ordered 3x from this hatchery. Unfortunately not all the chickens make it. A few were weak once they arrived at the post office. We lost 3 out of 10. The rest seem healthy. We have one chicken that is now 6 years old. We love the buff brahmas. I just wish they would credit you for the chicks that’s don’t make it in the first 24 hrs of arrival.
