I am using it inside my barn for baby chicks but I don't believe it would be suitable for a dog outside in winter.

Sturdy doghouse. Using it for duck coop. Easy to assemble. We put a fitted piece of plywood over top of the original floor. It’s in a covered pen.

I would never recommend this product to anyone. First, it’s a nice concept and the roof has tile on it so keeps weather out. The feet are also nice. The problems, however, are abundant. The bolts to hold the sides to the front and back are so short that the nut catches about 2-3 threads…that’s it. Not very sturdy or strong like that. So I drove some screws into the sides for extra support. Second, the instruction sheet is worse that something coming from China…and this comes from TX. They are horrible, have no text and the pics are awful. They clearly took no time to create a nice instruction sheet…maybe it did come from China. The hinges that come with this are the cheapest, thinnest, most flimsy hinges I’ve ever seen. One of them was completely broken apart and bent beyond belief. It went in the box like that too because shipping surely couldn’t have done this. Another hinge was still together, but also bent. We had to purchase new hinges to put this thing together. Finally, there are no marks when putting the cross bar on the lid to screw it down to the back. You just have to guess where to put it a the instructions aren’t going to tell you. One of the little 1/8” thick pieces of particle board that were screwed into the lid where you screw the struts in was in the wrong place, and again, no markings where to screw in…was put in the wrong place (and glued down), so when putting together, the corner of the strut was cutting the wood off the corner of the wood piece holding the other end, when closing the lid…so I had to cut another piece to stick to the lid in order to get that piece to work properly. Overall, I would never recommend this to anyone. The customer service sucks so bad from Tractor Supply, that I can’t even believe it. I have sent two emails to them without response, asking for help. I contacted the mfr in TX and took them 4 days to respond and the only solution they had was to send the original parts to replace those that were damaged…so wait another week to build it. The problem is that the parts included suck. It’s a lot of money for a super low quality product!

This is a sturdy dog house perfect for my small dog. It's easy to put together.
