Standlee Premium Western Forage Premium Alfalfa Pellets, 40 lb. is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 246.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product but wish it was organic I bought this for my goats, it is difficult to find organic feed in my area so this was the only option.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Standlee product Add this to our senior feed for an extra punch of energy and nutrition. Always consistent. Horses are very happy with it and are looking good!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent feed and supplement . I have been using for years with great results for my older horses (one now 31 yo), pregnant and lactating goats, even ducks and chickens . It can be fed as dry pellets or suitably moistened for the particular animal. Convenient and no waste (goats especially will eat the tastiest bits of hay and waste the rest)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good price, good quality Great for my mini Nubians! Priced well, compact, does the job with less mess.

Questions & Answers

I have read conflicting information about Alfalfa for donkeys. Is this product good for Donkeys? if not what do you recommend

Asked by: becca8
Thank you for you question. The key to successful donkey nutrition is to find high-fiber forages of low nutritional value. An ideal choice is clean straw, which in many ways is the most similar choice to feeds donkeys would find in their native environments. Another ideal choice is a grass forage, such as the Timothy Grass compressed bales and/or pellets. This a low protein forage, that donkeys do very well on as well. You can always combine the two products to find the ideal feed for your donkey. Thank you

What percentage of Alfalfa is there in the alfalfa pellets? I infer 100% but would like confirmation.

Asked by: Mariana
Standlee Alfalfa Pellets are 100% alfalfa, there are no additives included in the pelleted products.

Is this contain GMO alfalfa?

Asked by: Michcab

After soaking 30 minutes the pellets swelled and softened a bit, but had a hard core and did not disintegrate like the alfalfa cubes do. Is that as much softening as I can expect? I am feeding them to an elderly horse who can eat grass but not hay.

Asked by: ValF
Thank you for your inquiry. In most instances, the pellets will fully break apart. However, there are times when the forage used is more dense and this will keep the pellets together in pellet form longer. If the forage is denser, it will hold the compression better, therefore it will not expand as expected. Thank you

How many lbs. per day should I feed my lactating dairy doe goat?

Asked by: Jonathan k
Thank you for your question. Standlee Premium Western Forage recommends that you feed by weight and not volume. With that said a lactating doe will need approximately 1.5 times the amount of a maintaining goat. You can find the recommended feeding amount on our website at: https://standleeforage.com/nutrition/feeding-instructions Thank you

Can I ferment these alfalfa pellets for a supplement for goats and chickens?

Asked by: AM PM
Thank you for your question. Standlee Premium Western Forage would not recommend fermenting products as it can also create mold growth, which can be harmful to livestock.
