Standlee Alfalfa Mini Cubes deliver high levels of protein and digestible energy. Made from chopped, sun-cured alfalfa with a small amount of bentonite for binding, these smaller cubes provide the same high-quality nutrition in an easy-to-measure form and quickly soften when soaked. Standlee recommends feeding Alfalfa Mini Cubes to growing and performance horses, horses with gastric ulcers, and pregnant or lactating mares. For increased hydration and horses with dental issues, mini cubes are recommended to be fed wet, soaked in water (2 parts water to 1 part mini cubes) for 30 minutes or until properly softened. Standlee recommends that cubed forage is not the sole source of forage for horses since feeding some long-stem forage may help eliminate boredom and prevent stall vices.
