Q:   Howdy !              Whats agreat fertilizer for a centipede lawn ?       The Gardener said to get Scott’s weed and Feed But they r different kinds !!! Help    It will be its first treatment  so pls help    We r in Long Beach, MS.          Thanks

  • A: We recommend using Scotts® Turf Builder® Southern Lawn Food. If you're looking for a fertilizer with a weed control, we recommend using Scotts® Turf Builder® Weed & Feed₃ (yellow bag with the dandelion on the front) for your centipede lawn. You want to apply any fertilizer when daytime temperatures are consistently between 60-85 degrees F.

Q: Will this product work in Southwestern New Mexico? The highs right now about 60° and lows in the 30's. Or is it too early? Will it help with the very few weeds in the lawn?

  • A: We recommend waiting to apply until temperatures are consistently over 60 degrees F. THis product does not contain any weed killer.

Q: can i use on amy type of grass?? Also can I use it on my St Augustine in mid June in South Central Texas without harming the grass??

The Program Doesn't Include Their Best Stuff

The turf builder is adequate however for my climate, the Summergaurd product would've been more appropriate. I wish that was automatically included in the subscription. Also Scott's needs a pre-emergent to be placed during later winter.

Here's a helpful tip: Apply the product to a dry lawn then water in after application (approximately 5 minutes of watering) especially if activity is expected on the lawn, no rain is predicted for the next several days, and/or temperature exceeds 90°F. (Note: There are very few exceptions to this rule, and they rarely come up).. We hope this helps you get the most out of your product and achieve the results you're looking for.

Tried Scotts on my lawn

Scott's has been producing / selling fertilizers for as long as I can remember. The sale in July gave me an opportunity to try out Scotts on my lawn. I applied it when it arrived. By mid-July, after the application, my lawn is noticeably greener. I am very happy with Scott's !

Bermuda turf greened up nicely and is staying green in this 90+ deg. heat.I like the small prill size fertilizer.Very easy to spread and no clumps.
