Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Curbside Pickup Service Recently ordered limestone and curbside pickup was fine as I asked them to load a pallet into my truck with their forks. Yesterday ordered pelletized fertilizer and had to wait 35 minutes for someone to bring out our order, and then only after my wife went into the store to ask for help. Found a polite young gentleman who was heading out for lunch and he at least wheeled the cart with 500 lbs of fertilizer to the truck. Then left it for us to load, probably worse customer service I have experienced during this pandemic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product! Great product that’s easy to use. I put 200# on my 1/2 acre lawn and it improved the color and growth as soon as the next rainfall had washed it into the soil. Curbside pickup was quick, easy and best of all, I didn’t have to lift it into my truck!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Usable !!!!!!!!!!! This is the most un-usable material I have ever used in almost 50 yrs of taking care of lawns! Fist I ordered 15 bags and when I picked it up it was in an AC loading dock area and the outside temp was 88 with almost 80% humidity so as soon as you take the cool plastic bags and put it into a car and it hits the heat what happens( IT CREATES CONDENSATION IN THE BAGS). What happens when you add water to lime( YOU CREATE A CEMENT)! I use a 175lb. commercial spreader and no matter haw much you add (1 OR MORE) the weight compacts the bottom layer in the spreader as a solid block of clay/cement that will not drop out of the spreader! I will never purchase from tractor supply again!!!!!!!!!!

How many bags per acre?

Asked by: nbdr
The amoun of lime to apply is depetrmined by the soil type and acidity present. We suggest you test your soil with a pH test kit. The amount required can range from 400lbs to 3,000lbs. A general guideline is below: Apply one bag per 1,000 sq. ft. to maintain soil pH and two bags per 1,000 sq. ft. to correct acidic soils. 1 acre= 43,560 sq. ft. Total # of bags: Approx. 44 bags to maintain soil pH. Approx. 88 bags to correct acidic soils.

Can this Control moles in a yard

Asked by: Royalty46
The only effect this could produce is a change in the pH of the soil which will drive a moles food source, grubs, away. It's not a guaranteed solution.

Can this be used in a garden? Tilled into soil prior to planting to raise PH levels?

Asked by: Whoward
Yes, this product can be used to raise pH levels in a garden's soil. Be careful not to raise the pH too high. This makes nutrients unavailable, resulting in nutrient deficiency symptoms like yellow leaves and stunted growth. Pulverized lime is better suited, however, as it is a fine power and is more easily dispersed in the soil.
