Q: Can grass seed be put down , shortly after application?

1 Answer
  • A: Hi Neighbor- You can put seed down immediately after applying Austinville Limestone Soft Calcium Gypsum Soil Conditioner, but it is best to work the product into the soil first and water it in. If you are seeding a new lawn, applying the gypsum before seeding is a good method to improve the soil structure for root development. For existing lawns, apply the product to the surface and then lightly water it.

Q: Is good to use in mushroom substrate

1 Answer
  • A: The product manufacturer is not familiar with this application and their gypsum product is recommended for other horticultural purposes. That being said, it is a pH neutral source of calcium and sulfur. If that is desirable for growing mushrooms, it would be ideal. Note that the gypsum pellets will dissolve upon contact with moisture.

Perfect for treating dog spots in yard

Just what your lawn needs to help with pet spots, and if you salt your driveway in the winter, this helps break down what spreads to your grass to keep your lawn healthy. We’re also in a new construction community, and the soil that was left around the house isn’t the best. This helps break down heavy clay soils as well. If you live in a heavy clay region, you should incorporate this treatment into your lawn care regimen.
