Rated 1 out of 5 by from Crack at the bottom These tanks are brittle and they crack at the bottom. Usually about the time the 1 year warranty runs out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Made a perfect turkey brooder I did not use this for its intended purpose. I purchased this to set up an indoor brooder for my turkey poults. It worked perfectly for my needs and the needs of the turkeys. 10 lived in this until about 3 weeks of age and then they were moved to a larger brooder outside. They are now 8 weeks old and doing great. Im now usinf this container to store outdoor and pool toys until we order turkeys again next season.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rubbermaid water trough Performs for what we needed. Also like the low profile float designed just for this trough. Cows can’t tear it up.

i want to use this as a pool with chlorine tablets would that work?????

Asked by: carol24
This has not been tested. The Rubbermaid Structural Foam Tank is developed and intended for the watering of live stock. We make no claim when it comes to being used for anything other than its intended use. Ok to use the stock tank as a bathtub with no plumbing fixtures attached. I will have to ask about Chemicals that can be used. It states stock tanks should be sanitized regularly with a 50/50 bleach-water mix. Bleach takes care of algae, but not mineral deposits, to get rid of mineral deposits we recommend Lime-Away or one of the common off the shelf Chemicals designed for mineral deposits.

What is the size of the drain plug? It says 1 1/2" so i bought a brass valve that size and it was too big.

Asked by: Zach84
Drain = 1 1/2" diameter all plastic with Teflon Tape. The Interior of the plug s a nominal 1.6" with a 1-1/4"NPT thread. PVC and Pipe will screw into the drain a very short distance but because of the tapers threads tightens very quickly. The plug was designed for the use of plugging up the drain. It wasn't intended as a plumbing fixture.

Can I hook up a garden hose to drain

Asked by: JV19
The drain hole is threaded but will not fit a standard garden hose. It is approx 1 1/2" (designed for fast draining). The thread is an NPT pipe thread and can be matched up to standard plastic plumbing pipe.

What is the weight of this tank?  My concern is if my horse may be able to pick it up and throw it around if its nearly empty.

Asked by: Sage1Pete2
Tanks are rated by capacity not weight. They will support the weight necessary for their rated capacity. Engineering does not provide weight ratings on stock tanks.
