Rated 5 out of 5 by from Using as a Hot Tub Looking for a great soaking tub? Look no further. I turned the Rubbermaid into a soaking tub complete with a wood-fired Chofu heater and added an air pump and jets. Also added an Intex circulation filter - it works perfectly! It all starts with the 300 gallon Rubbermaid. Excellent product for the farm and, has many uses.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome tank, replace the bulkhead Great tank, arrived by freight no problem. Bulkhead seems a bit weak to me, lots of people have leaking issues. It is ok, mine came a bit loose. If you remove it, add some teflon tape, then reinstall properly. I ended up buying a schedule 80 bulkhead to replace it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst Tank I Ever Bought This thing cracked in three places within a year of putting it into service. The cracks were halfway down the side where a "ledge" is formed, not in a flat area. I'm guessing they are stress fractures. Nothing will patch structural foam; nothing adheres to it. I tried patching the cracks with several types of epoxies and sealants, all for nought. I'll never buy another one. I'm going back to a galvanized tank. At least I can patch simple leaks and sell the scrap metal after the bottom rusts through.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not durable I'm in southeast Texas and bought a Rubbermaid round water tank about 4 years ago. It developed several cracks after about 3 years. Tried to repair it, but flex seal & similar products couldn't fix it. Will not buy another.

Can you connect a hose to it for draining

Asked by: TeeHink
The 1 1/2" drain plug will not fit a conventional garden hose. The threading is NPT pipe thread to match standard plastic plumbing pipe.

What can be used to fix a crack

Asked by: Skunkworks
The manufacturer does not recommend using any epoxies or adhesives. Instead they recommend thermal plastic welding. Basically, using a torch, heat the product and melt it back together. You may also supplement another piece of plastic to weld on.

what are the inside length and width dimensions from closest point to point.

Asked by: jimster280
The length is 63-1/4 in., and the width is 69 in. The outer lip is around 1 inch to 1.5 inches so that would be taken into account for the inner diameter. The manufacturer was able to give us the exact dimensions of the just the bottom portion of the inside of the tank, which is 58.5 inches by 47 inches. We hope this helps!

Would this tub be paint-able (the external part) for decoration and indoor use? Also, what sort of flammable/heat safety rating does the tub material have? I'd like to use it as a tortoise house, which includes lighting, heat elements, water & soil.

Asked by: KZSki
Company does not recommend painting There are not tested for being flame resistant
