Rated 5 out of 5 by from First one lasted 5yrs, next still going 9+ years I bought this tank in 2005 for my horses. Found it melted after gelding pulled floating heater out. Heater started a fire then fire melted tank; water from melting tank put out fire. I replaced melted tank with same tank and it worked great from 2010 until we moved this year (2019). Will buy another one for the new place. Especially like being able to set up using garden hose with shut-off valve and heater that mounts in the plug so horse can’t get to it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Exactly what I was looking for Durable tank that holds water, fish, and tadpoles while exposed directly to the sun. Look forward to adding fittings to the drain to attach a hose for watering the garden. Great price from TSC!

What is the weight of the empty tank?

Asked by: Rique
Tanks are rated by capacity not weight. They will support the weight necessary for their rated capacity. Engineering does not provide weight ratings on stock tanks.

What is best way to patch a hole (melted from heater) in middle of side of 150 gallon tank ? I have read that some people have tried hot air plastic welder and others have tried JB Weld or Plumbers Goop - and have had varying degrees of success.

Asked by: fixer61
We do not recommend patching a stock tank. The tanks are made from polyethylene and do not work well with epoxy or other standard adhesives.

It says on the tub to use only use gages heaters. What kind of heater is that? I googled it all kinds of things pop up. I purchased a fish tank heater will that work?

Asked by: Sapphire1008
Farm Innovators and API make heaters for the Rubbermaid Stock Tank. Brands are sold at any dealer that sells our stock tanks. If using a floating heater, make sure to use one that has a cage (or what could be called a guard).
