All of these prefab coops are what they are - I initially had used this coop as a 'starter coop' which was located inside of a 10x30 secured chicken run. I used it for pullets before they were big enough to enter an established flock. I had since moved this coop OUTSIDE of my chicken run and used it to house 5 silky chickens. I had also put an automatic door attached to the 'hardware cloth' and then a chicken tunnel so the silkies could free and my big girls wouldn't be able to harm them. I had also secured this coop with additional hardware cloth on top of what it already had AND underneath so no predators could get in. What I didn't take account for was the latching mechanism to the coop itself. A racoon was able to unlatch the coop door and massacred ALL FIVE silkies. So now I am back to using the coop as a starter coop AFTER I fix the locks. Don't let that happen to you - if you purchase this coop, PLEASE for the safety of your flock, change out those locks!

Roof collapse within the 1 first year of having these. I bought 4 of them and the door are hard to open and close after eing in the weather. Mesh welding coming undone. I would not recommend these of you need something for indoors this would work but not in the elements. I have 14 coops from the tractor supply and These are by far the worst coops I have ever bought.

Great coop just keep up with any repairs and will last you years to come and add a flasher between the nest box and the roof to prevent water going in between

I bought this 1 1/2 yrs ago. Although it was cute, the craftsmanship is poor. The roof is completely water damaged especially the part over the run and rotting and the slider door broke apart in pieces. Definitely not worth $400 plus the taxes. At best I'd say it's worth $200. If all you want it for is a temporary shelter for about a year than you'll be good, otherwise I can't recommend investing in this. Also it fits 3 medium to large hens but I wouldn't recommend housing anymore than that in this coop. The roasting bar is far too narrow and close to the ground. It gets knocked out of place easily all the time. The ramp gets knocked down just as easily all the time by my girls. I will definitely be sharing this information as well with all my followers online and in all the chicken forums that I'm in. Please don't waste your hard earned money on this not even half rate coop. For the price paid for this I could have easily gone to th hardware store and bought materials and built a coop myself and it would have lasted for years to come.
