This is a nice addition to my Porter cable set. Works well for small to intermediate jobs and doesn't kill batteries to quickly, I do use the 20v 5.0 batteries with it though. Good price, good value.

Unlike many variable speed tools, this one doesn't suddenly run away. Speed can fairly easily be adjusted to match the bit and material being worked. It also has impressive power and hammer-drills concrete and masonry nicely. My only gripe, and the reason for only four stars, is the bad location of its LED illuminator. The light is blocked by the drill body and the chuck unless you're using a bit almost a foot long. The LED is bright enough to cause pupils to contract, so the deep shadow it creates makes it more difficult to see the bit than it would be without the light. In fading daylight, I need to cover the LED to see what I'm doing.
