Heading Into Heating Season #4

The PelPro PP130 was my first and only pellet stove purchase. As a long time wood burner I was extremely skeptical that a pellet stove would be cost effective and reliable. After a great deal of research I decided on the PelPro PP130. I had looked at the high end stoves and just couldn't justify big dollars for an experiment. I made a very wise choice. This stove has performed almost flawlessly throughout the past 3 North Central PA winters. I am heating 1400 sq. ft. of space half of which is vaulted ceiling. We keep the temperature at around 78 degrees, even in single degree outside temperatures, on setting 4 and average consumption is 130 bags a year. This is our sole source of heat. Initially, we had an issue with the rotary dial which PelPro immediately replaced and I replaced the igniter last season (typical wear item). Beyond that we have had zero issues. I shut down the stove each day for approximately 10 minutes, empty the pot, vacuum the ash, and wipe the glass. After every 50-60 bags I do a 1 hour tear down (very easily accomplished) and give the stove a deep cleaning. I fully expect that in this the 4th year I may be replacing a part, but again maybe not. Are there better looking stoves on the market? Absolutely. Are there other stoves that are as reliable, cost effective, easy to maintain, AND allow you, due to the 130lb capacity hopper, to go away for 3 days and not worry about running out of fuel? Probably not. This is a great stove and I don't think you will be disappointed.

I'm only giving them a 1 star because I have too

Got this stove 1 week ago. Set it up and attempted to run it for the first time on Saturday 11/20/21. I attempted 2x and the received the code for "miss Ignition" check everything they told me to check on the PelPro website and noticed that the latch on the door wasn't latched. I attempted to close the door and the part of the handle on the inside snapped right off. I attempted to go to TSC and they told me they couldn't do anything so this morning I called PelPro and they were not accommodating at all and told me it could be up to 2 weeks before I got the part. I purchased this stove to heat half of my house so I could host thanksgiving and now I cant do that. I will be trying everything in my power to return this stove because it has yet to be run and I don't appreciate the PelPro customer service.

Very happy with this money saver.

I have had this for 5 seasons. This year is our 6 season. I am very happy with it. I suggest the people having trouble are not keeping it clean. I clean my stack completely every week. I brush to the top, and vac into the stove from the stack pipe.i also vac the stove almost daily. Once a week pull the playes vac behind the plates and into the left lower port to the inducer. I replaced both the blower fan and the inducer fan, when they started making noise. I keep the old ones for an emergency. All the parts are easy for a diy person to make their own repairs. I am a retired hvac tech. There is nothing in this unit that is complicated. And parts are available from many suppliers.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Don't buy!

Bought this expensive pellet stove last season. Almost hitting 1 year of owning it and second time we went to use it for the season, the pellets over flowed in the box. Almost burning our house down but also destroying the motor and other parts. After we cleaned it and tried to turn it back on the electrical board sparked and fried. We bought the extended warranty though TSC and they refused to honor the warranty. Called the actual pellet stove company and they just talked over me telling me I can buy parts to fix it and keeps sending me tutorials to trouble shoot but the parts are shot and the electrical board is shot. I just want someone to honor the warranty coverage!

No, I do not recommend this product.

Hello. We're sorry to hear that you've had such a negative experience. The "extended warranty" through Tractor Supply simply lengthens the return window with them, they have no access our warranty system. With that being said, we would be happy to file a warranty exception to get your stove fixed and make this right for you. Please reach out to our PelPro Support Team at (877) 427-3316 and let them know that you are calling in regard to a review. The stove runs on the temperature expected from the comfort setting. The stove will go into shutdown when the expected temperature is met and will kick back on after it sense a drop in temperature by a few degrees. This is how it maintains temperature in the room. The stove can be ran on a constant burn, on the low or high setting. If you have any questions or need further assistance, we would be happy to help. still under review from me

I bought this stove, and it would not work. I called customer service and did all the test they told me to do. After a week and being frustrated. I found a broken wire on the agar motor. The motor wasn't mounted correctly, it just spined on the agar shaft. I bought a new motor and instilled it myself. The stove has been working for the past 2 weeks now. I hope that I don't have any more problems.
