This small stove is a power house! We installed it in the finished basement of our two story home and it easily raised the temp from 49° F to a comfortable 73° in the basement apartment. That's great because our son moved back home and we have a HP50 on our first floor that heats the main and second floor perfectly, but the basement was cold, now with the Alpine HP40 in the basement everyone is comfortable and we don't have to run the main furnace ever! 1200 sq ft two story colonial in Western NY think Buffalo area. Highly recommend the HP40 & HP50!

door handle tool wonky why not a handle like other models side doors too have to have a tool to open and ash pan too small

What I found getting it working

My biggest issue were these two baffle plates that suspend from the top of the burn chamber.
They can come loose in transit. They are not talked about in the literature. I had to talk to Comfortbilt.
They should be secured for transit better and talked about. They could be design better as well.

DO NOT BUY ANY COMFORT BILT STOVES. I bought a stove that has parts failures in one month of use. No customer service for issues or problems. The manual says call this phone # then it tells you they don't offer any phone support. You have to go to website and open a ticket. They still don't respond to ticket. They also say they have online chat which doesn't work either. You have been warned.
