Rated 5 out of 5 by from A solid performer... We purchased this stove and installed it ourselves. Installation and clearances as listed in the manual ensured that we passed inspection easily. The unit arrived in perfect condition, the TSC staff in Coeur d' Alene were super helpful on pickup. When we fired it up, it quickly demonstrated it's ability to cook us right out of our living space! It's working well, the built in thermostat is effective. Cleaning is straight forward. Loading pellets is easy and the 70 Lb hopper means we can walk away knowing it will continue to function as needed. The only thing I would wish different would be that the main blower fan was a little quieter. But even that we can live with. This stove has quickly become the place everyone gathers to start the day, play games or have long talks on the phone... we love it. I did a lot of research before purchasing this stove and I'm very happy with my choice.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Still waiting to see.... This stove was supposed to be delivered to my home address. The driver took it upon himself to leave it at the local Tractor Supply so it had to be picked up, no offer of compensation was made. After hooking it up, it is erroring out. All avenues were checked and still erroring. PelPro is not open on weekends so no help from them until Tuesday. Will update when we get it running.

Would like a picture of the back to see what side the exhaust vent is on.

Asked by: Jessicareiber13
The owner's manual shows detailed diagrams of where the exhaust vents along with clearance measurements. The manual is available for download under the More Info tab.

Can you hook to a wall thermostat to control temperature

Asked by: Jonathen
This stove has a built-in dial thermostat on the side of the stove. Our PelPro TSC90 stove is external thermostat capable.

I have your Pelpro 130 what is the difference between this the pp70.  I'm happy with mine but my father would like one .

Asked by: Jennirk
Both are excellent stoves. The PelPro PP130 is our flagship stove for those that need to heat larger spaces and want 130 pounds of hopper capacity. The PP70 is also a great heater that is wrapped in a compact design. The PP70's smaller footprint, 70 pounds of hopper capacity, and the ability to heat up to 2,000 square feet are what sets the 2 stoves apart. I hope this helps!

How loud is the fan when running? Is it loud to where youhave to turnupa tv's volume to hear?

Asked by: Ed0516
This new pellet stove is much quieter than the pellet stoves of yesterday. PelPro stoves are smart and subtly ramp the heat output up or down based on how much the home needs. When on high and really cranking out the heat, you may need to turn the TV up a little but most of the time you can hear the pellets drop into the firepot over the fan.

can you add hopper extension pp130 to stove pelpro 70

Asked by: B1517
Great question! The hopper extension option is exclusive to the PelPro PP130. The PP70 has a 70 pound hopper capacity. If you need the extra capacity, the PP130 is an excellent choice.

How do you clean it...does it have a clean pan

Asked by: 12rojo
The PP70 takes about 5 minutes every few days to clean. Detail can be found on page 22 of the manual and under the lid of the hopper but essentially: With the stove off and while wearing gloves: Lift the firepot out, tap the ash into an ash bucket or one of the ash wells that are on either side of the firepot. Drop the firepot back in place and clean the glass. Every 2-4 weeks you will want to vacuum out the ash bins and vacuum behind the baffles. That is also a good time to do a quick visual inspection of your venting and clean out your ash cleanout tee on your venting, if you have one. This takes about another 10 minutes. The PelPro stoves are made to run hard and deliver lots of heat into your home. Keeping them clean will ensure trouble-free heat all winter long.

I’m replacing a wood stove with a 6 inch chimney, can i use the existing chimney to vent the pellet stove?

Asked by: Danny62h
You can use woodstove pipe as long as you have a plan for how you will periodically clean out the ash. We recommend using a clean out tee at the bottom.

Does this pellet stove shut down when the desired temp is reached and then start back up as needed with the built in thermostat? Or is it actually just a heat Output setting on the stove?

Asked by: Tizzle Town
Hey Tizzle, Great question! Yes, this stove is designed to maintain a consistent room temperature, turning off and on as needed to maintain the desired temp. Let us know if you have any other questions.--Meghan at PelPro
