Homestead Essentials Pro Deluxe nesting box is designed to provide a private, safe, and comfortable environment for hens, promoting egg laying while discouraging brooding behavior. Each individual compartment accommodates medium size breeds and can host up to 5 hens. Made from galvanized steel, the box panels and roof offer durability, easily mounting to walls, barns, or coops. The (PP) Polypropylene basket trays are rust-proof, rot-proof, and feature a ventilation filter grid for cleanliness. Removable and washable trays help maintain a tidy nest. The universal metal collection lid offers a a convenient way to gather eggs from all compartments at once. The basket trays have a slight forward slope to ensure eggs roll away from the nest into the collection chamber, protecting them from debris, feathers and damage. Liner use is unnecessary.

- A: The Homestead Essentials Nesting Box is designed to be used with special nesting pads or no material at all, rather than loose bedding like straw or shavings. The sloped bottom allows eggs to roll away safely, and loose materials would interfere with this process. Worth it but poor instructions

Pretty solid once put together. Instructions could be better. Pretty much just has poor quality images that you can't see detail. Some of the bolt holes don't line up perfectly. Keep most of the bolts loose until you get them all in. There is no mounting hardware since there may be multiple ways to place it. I ended up buying a french cleat and mounting it that way.
