This heavy-duty floor model drill press is the mainstay in any shop with 12 speeds and powerful 3/4 HP motor. Features crank handle operated rack and pinion vertical table movement, cushioned grip quill handles, built-in light, and the table has lock levers and a coolant trough. A very popular machine.

Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase. Yes, there is a small amount of run out and the belts are challenging to keep tight but it's a nice tool.

This machine drills holes wonderfully, never before have I seen a machine work so gracefully, cutting through these uranium casings like they were butter.

WELL PLEASED G7944!

Using G7944 along with its “Big Brother” G7948 for woodworking and metal working. I set up G7948 to handle large projects with marked setup time and use G7944 for smaller projects requiring quick change versatility. Both are excellent drill presses with simplicity of changing drill speeds by quickly looking at the diagram beneath the belt cover, relax the tension lever, move the belt to the correct pulley combinations and you are good to go. NOTE: G7944 has the UNIQUE drill speed 140 RPM (revolutions per minute) for cutting materials such as STAINLESS STEEL, that can quickly overheat at higher RPM causing the bit to overheat and fail. I LOOKED AT SEVERAL OTHER DRILL PRESSES AND DID NOT SEE ANOTHER THAT WAS AFFORDABLE TO THE AVERAGE PERSON THAT WOULD ACHIEVE THE 140 RPM. Yes there are minor issues that we as woodworkers/machinists can certainly work through. REMEMBER THAT GRIZZLY HAS AN OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE GROUP OF WOMEN/MEN THAT PICKUP THE PHONE AND DILIGENTLY WORK TO SOLVE OUR ISSUES. Go Grizzy!!! I have a shop full of Grizzly tools, because of the people who pickup the phone and talk to me.

Shipping was an issue with this item. I wanted my money back because nobody could give me an answer on when it would be here. My wife had to get involved and call the carrier my suggestion to use to get a better carrier.
