Benchtop Jointer features a spiral-type cutterhead for smoother finishes, quieter operation, and less maintenance compared with straight-knife cutterheads. The 12 high-speed steel (HSS) inserts sit square to the axis of the cutterhead, with the cutting edges perpendicular to the workpiece. HSS has been heat treated for hardness and wear resistance, which keeps a sharp edge longer than other carbon steels.The manual was written by our U.S.-based Technical Documentation Department and is packed with useful information. The complete and easy-to-read manual makes it easier to assemble and maintain your machine. The Customer Service and Technical Support Teams are also U.S.-based. Parts for this machine may be available online and shipped from the parts warehouse in Springfield, MO.

Terrible fence decent otherwise

Poor quality fence. All it takes is a tap from the board to throw it out of square. I’m super disappointed with this. Decent otherwise but relatively useless without a decent fence.

Scratches

The aluminum top will get scratches and lined etched into it from hardwoods. It appears hardwoods are harder than aluminum top.

Many hardwood species are denser than aluminum, so over time some wear is expected, especially with heavy use or if debris gets caught between the workpiece and the table. These scratches shouldn’t affect the performance or accuracy of the machine. Keeping the surface clean and using a light coat of paste wax can help reduce friction and minimize future marking. Nice little machine

I really like this little jointer. I needed something for some small projects I wanted to tackle but didn’t want a big machine. It fits under my workbench and is light enough to put it on top when needed without any trouble. And so far it has produced dead straight edges with only a couple minor tweaks at setup. Very happy with it so far.

Decent starter jointer

Works pretty well, pros include cutting smoothness and dust collection. Cons that I ran into: (1) pieces of metal seemed to get into the wood - not sure if these broke off from blades, OR, if it is debris from initial manufacturing. These embedded pieces of metal then gouged the table, so that's disappointing. (2) the quick release level for the fence cannot be actuated in certain positions as the other quick release lever that's there gets in the way. If nothing else makes it a PITA and ergonomic challenge to circumvent.

Yes, I recommend this product.
