Excellent 15" Planer

We've been using this machine extensively for several months now. Cuts consistently every time. Once uncrated it takes several hours to calibrate the in-feed and out-feed rollers to the cutter head as well as the in-feed and out-feed tables. Like a finely tuned piano, once tuned it cuts beautifully.

Yes, I recommend this product.

This is the one.

Owning a cabinet shop I have used many brands of equipment. This planer is best in its class. Many people ask me why I use this style vs a fixed head. A fixed head with rollers in the bed and manual locking table is for heavy duty rough planning. This model is for precision. My specialty is building exterior doors almost all 2 1/4” and 2 1/2” thick French lap. So I am planing large heavy material 1/16” off per pass leaving a finish like it had been sanded to 300 grit. Buy the fixed head if you’re mainly planing rough slabs and beams. This machine leaves a better finish than my 20” Powermatic Byrd head planer. Noise level I would say is 90% quieter than the DeWalt735 and 75% quieter than the Makita 2012nb. Dust collection really shocks me, it collects at least 99%. There is only a few brands I haven’t used industrial to lunch box and this is the best. My concern was everyone talking about the gear oil needing to be topped off or drained for new oil because the stock oil is hard to find. I am NOT mechanically inclined. I timed it, having no clue what is was doing it took me 11 minutes start to finish draining the factory gear oil and adding 80weight gear oil form Auto Zone. No funnel or pump is needed. That is all the set up to use the machine.
