Not a lathe for advanced users

I've had the lathe from 6 months and it has worked fine, But The lack of spindle speeds and motor power really makes cutting off steel not fun or easy. I have stalled the machine more times than i can count, Wish it had cross slide feed, but this is my first lathe and we all make mistakes. I love the hand scraped ways on the cross slide, the DRO is also useable BUT beware that it ONLY READS in RADUIS not diameter and there is no way to adjust it to diameter so better be good with math or have a calculator ready. The oilers are low quality and came broken out of the box. I WOULD SAVE THE MONEY FOR A BETTER MACHINE. Its basically a fully upgraded VEVOR lathe out of the box. First lathe i bought and it really gave me the experience to buy my forever lathe down the road. I do pretty heavy metal turning. Also you will not like the 3/4 spindle bore, Way to small.

No, I do not recommend this product.

We are sorry to hear the lathe didn't meet your expectations, and we understand your disappointment for heavier metal turning. This benchtop model is aimed at lighter-duty work and users just getting started, and your feedback highlights how important it is to match machine capability with intended use. Your perspective on what you want is valuable, and feedback like this helps other customers make more informed decisions. If you’d like to discuss machine options better suited for heavier metal turning, our Product Support team would be more than happy to help guide you. Thank you for sharing your experience.

Great machine

I have had this for one year and find the G0768Z a great and very accurate piece of equipment. The gear change for screw thread cutting is quick and easy to accomplish. The manual for this equipment is well written for ease of understanding. The DRO is great to work with so you don't have to remember dial movement. The only compliant is that the DRO display is not up-gradable due to the sensor connections on the back of the display.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great Machine

Great machine for the price and size. Not sure how much benefit I will get out of the DRO. It and the knob scales don't always agree. Final sizing should only be done with hand held devices. It will need a complete teardown and cleaning before use. Which is probably true for most machines of this type.
