    LOVE IT

SUPERB.... been using this for a few years and its on par or better IMO than my previous Italian brand names. Grizz offers every price point, and people underestimate their Ultimate line.... throw away the blade that comes with it, unless you are rough cutting waste wood, its useless... for veneering, put a good blade on it, and its incredible.... like all BS u have to dial everything in for the specific task... no need to replace any of the bearings, as if set up wright, the factory bearings work excellent.... maybe some unique applicaitons would require different bearings.... one slight weak point, is the fence, its just OK, fine for rough cuts... for detailed work or veneering, get the Laguna fence... wish Grizz would offer one for their saws.... but even Laguna saws done come with their upgraded fence, so cant ding a start... for tall cuts, in HARDwood the 5hp matters ! You can push through at a good pace to avoid burn marks.... consistent speed allows for less saw marks as well, so if you make high cuts through very dense woods, 5 hp should be mandatory.... cant find a flaw here... great saw, great value, great support, 5 stars

We're happy to hear that you're enjoying your bandsaw and it performs better than your previous one. Your insight into the importance of the 5HP motor for dense cuts is valuable. Your suggestion for an upgraded fence is noted, and we will consider it for future enhancements. Thank you for recognizing our commitment to quality and support. 5 HP Ultimate bandsaw

This bandsaw is everything you could want in a saw. It was easy to setup and the wheels run turn. The the doors fit securely and the top door opens when the bottom door is opened. Easily cleaned because the dust ports pull the dust away effectively. The saw blade runs true and the motor to raise the cutter housing is a very handy feature. The only problem is that the website does not say YOU MUST MAKE YOUR OWN ELECTRICAL CABLE. Yes I had to purchase a plug and 6' of 30AMP electrical cable and wire it to the machine. Not a big deal but a real surprise when I uncared the saw. The lift gate delivery was good as it is a big sucker and had to be taken off the pallet before it could come in the standard garage door. The finally get it through the garage door we had to put it on a two wheeled hand cart and lean it back to roll under the door frame.

    Excellent bandsaw

I've had the bandsaw for several weeks now. I use it every day and smile each time. It arrived setup and ready to go. However, I preordered a carbide tooth blade ahead of time and never used the included blade. I spent a couple of hours getting it dialed in, although it came almost perfectly adjusted. The other day I cut some walnut that was 19" tall and about 30" long. The bandsaw cut this block as straight as can be. The dust collection is excellent. I have a 6" pipe with two 4" branches wyed off to the two inlet ports. The table is a huge, beautiful casting that is ground as true as I can measure it. I paid extra for the lift gate option and UPS delivered it. This could have been a problem, because the bandsaw is shipped on a narrow pallet and the standard UPS pallet jack is too wide to move the thing. It was obviously loaded on the truck with a forklift, all the way at the forward end of the truck bed. How the driver was supposed to move the saw to the lift gate is beyond me(and the driver was baffled, too). Fortunately, I have a narrow pallet jack in my shop(about 20.5" to the outside of the forks) and was able to use it to get the bandsaw off the truck. The Grizzly engineers really did their homework on this tool. Whichever Taiwanese factory made this saw, they excelled expectations and in my opinion this saw is equal to or better than European quality with some nice extra features added in. The only negative I have is regarding the fore and aft guidepost adjustment. The G0701 uses shims to align this. 4 set screws would have been a better system and I can see it on some of the other Grizzly models. If I ever take the guidepost off, I'll make this change myself. Thanks Grizzly for a great tool.
