Upgrade to my gasser

Good power, never had to take it out of low to get the job done (although I did just to see how the high setting would do). Used a single 5ah Powerstack battery and still had juice left in the battery. My yard is not huge (1/2-ish acre) but the is a lot of fence line, wooded area and places unaccessible with a mower. It’s a lot lighter, quieter, and just as powerful as my previous gas powered trimmer. The bump head is a bit touchy and there is a learning curve to not waste a lot of string just by bumping the head during not trimming. I did not experience the tangling string that others have mentioned in their reviews, so that’s good. I had the technique down by the end of the first run but still be aware that the bump head is sensitive. I would consider it an upgrade to my gas trimmer due to the weight, noise level and the fact that I have plenty of Dewalt batteries. Power-wise, I didn’t see any measurable difference compared to my gas trimmer. I did keep the gas trimmer as a dedicated pole saw since it was attachment capable and I opted not to go with the attachment capable Dewalt trimmer, which requires different batteries than the normal 20v batteries. The folding capability seems nice and it’s as sturdy as a solid shaft trimmer when locked. I don’t really have a use for that option but I could see where it could come in handy for some. Overall, a great trimmer if you already bought into some Dewalt batteries. If you have a multiple acre lot or a farm with lots of brush and high weeds, go for the next level up (60v model) or a gas trimmer just to be safe.

A well built weed eater

Purchased the weed eater on July 14, 2026 from Tractor Supply in Gt. Bend Kansas. After getting it home and the minimal “putting” together, I put a battery that I already had and off we went weed eating. No problems and the battery was at 50 minutes when I quit. I would recommend this weed eater.
