Rated 1 out of 5 by from Oil turned to water in my Chevy Diesel Pick-Up I tried this oil because it was on discount on says it meets all the required specs. However, had to add a quart ever 1000 miles twice so I had my mechanic change it back to Delvac. He said the oil came out very thin and thinks it’s because Chevron uses recycled oil. If that’s true then we should be warned cause that can ruin an engine

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great on a Honda Civic My Honda recommends 5w30 to 10w30 depending on climate.. this is 15w40 oil but works very very well in my Honda Civic d16y7 engine with 214,000 miles on it. No motor chatter during initial motor spin up in the morning, compared to 10w30 Chevron Supreme. That is, with the Chev. Supreme 10w30, there was a small amount of motor chatter for about a second during spin up, but with the delo, this is gone. They say that the most wear and tear of your engine is when you start it (with the oil having been drained out of the top of the engine from time) The engine seems to heat up quicker too, which is a good thing. A bit less oil consumption than 10w30. Gas mileage is still very good.

This has lower zinc an phosphorus now... Is this ok for 70s and 80s vintage tractor diesel engines? Or should I just change to a different oil?
