Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE 4 Health Dog Food! The TSC manager suggested 4Health a few years ago for my aging dog with arthritis that ate too much food and was supposed to lose weight to provide more comfort to achy joints. I placed him on weight management formula. He immediately started eating less food because the 4 Health brand is highly nutritious formula that meets his hunger needs without all those cheap fillers that other brands use. He has lost 20 lbs and maintains a healthy 62lbs by free feeding on 4 Health when he’s hungry. His coat gleams, He has a prance to his step again. An added bonus is that the volume of his waste is half as much with 4 Health food because his body actually utilizes the nutrition and there are all those fillers to discard... just sayin’. We tried 4 Health with a money back guarantee and I LOVE it, won’t switch!

I have been using 4 health healthy weight for my 9 year old mixed breed for about 9 months.  I read from a news report that this brand is not good for my dog’s heart!  I am sick and tired of these unreliable scare tactics!  What say you?

I have a 3 year old lab who is about 20 pounds over weight and a shepherd who is good on his weight.  Will I be able to feed them both this dog food or will I need to buy separate food?

Asked by: Wewilson
You may feed both dogs this diet as it is balanced for all dogs. It is lower in fat, so you could feed the shepherd on the top end of his weight range on the feeding guide and monitor his body condition. The Lab would need to be fed for his target weight (20lbs less) on the feeding guide. If the Shepherd starts to lose weight then yes, feeding a separate food may be simpler for you.

Is this food processed at high temps to maintain shelf life?

Asked by: Julie07
The food is manufactured using a process called extrusion. The extruder operates like a large, continuous flow, pressure cooker. The ingredients are cooked by using heat (185 degrees Fahrenheit), pressure, and mechanical shear. As the product exits the extruder it passes through a die that gives the kibble its shape. A knife cuts the kibble to the correct length. The product is dried to a moisture of 8-10%, is screened, and then a flavoring enhancer and canola oil or chicken fat is applied. The product is screened again and then packaged.

I have a dog who was recently diagnosed with pancreatitis. The vet recommended a low fat food, or food for weight loss. Would this be a good one for him to have? He currently eats 4health salmon & potato
