Tarter Galvanized Mesh Gate, 12 ft. is rated 2.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dont hold up. We have 4 of these. All of the welds have come off on the bottoms and 2 of them have actually had the bottom bar break in half or a quarter way down the pipe has broken in two. Very thin metal :-(

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Gate but Pricey! I have several of these gates on my horse farm and have had no issues. I have one horse who is good at always getting into trouble and he has yet to bend this gate or get his leg stuck. I found that he would paw at the tube gates and get his front legs stuck and bend the tubes, but the mesh is perfect from letting him get his leg stuck. I have owned these gates for 4 years now with no signs of rust or sagging. Would recommend to anyone with horses who like to put their front legs through gates but is a little pricey compared to the tube gates. You get what you pay for!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't buy this gate for horses This gate is dangerous for horses. It isn't very heavy and a 14.2 hand pony truck the top of the gate and bent it down quite a bit. The square openings are big enough for a smaller pony to kick through and get a leg hung up. I got rid of mine before anyone got a chance to do it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from replacing all these gates I started out with 5 of these mesh gates on my goat farm, 4 twelve footers and 1 ten footer. The gates that don't get used are holding up well but the ones that are used are failing within a year. Between the dogs jumping thru the top section and the goats standing on them and first thing to go are the welds that hold the mesh panel on. It's not welded very well in the first place, just tack welded. Then the welds holding the frame come undone and yesterday my pig finished it off. It's too thin of a metal (they don't tell you what gauge the frame is made of) to try to re-weld so as they fail I replace them with another type of gate. These gates would work great with smaller types of livestock like chickens and pygmy goats but don't climb your gate. You will be replacing it.

Are the end posts hollow on the bottom? i.e. Could a caster wheel be installed to help with ease of opening?

Asked by: Dede M
Yes and there is a gate wheel offered for the gates. Please contact your local TSC to place a special order for the Wheels.

How large are the mesh openings at the bottom of the gate? I would need the holes to be small enough to keep a small dog in the yard.

Asked by: Bob_H
The bottom five rows go from 2-1/4” to 2-1/2” in spacing.
