Battery Needed

Once you figure out that you MUST have a battery (not included) hooked up to it, it will work. Nowhere in the instructions does it tell you to hook up a battery. It will NOT work without it even though you have the electronics hooked up. Tech support says they will be adding that step into the instructions.

This is not “heavy duty”

I’ve had this installed for just over 2 months. A few days ago we had some wind come through and this aka heavy duty gate opener bent in half! The warranty is useless because the arm is not covered at all, which is stupid. You buy the whole box and everything that comes in the package should be under warranty! Not just pick and choose what is under warranty and what isn’t!

I have had to purchase 3 - MM371 gate openers in the past 6 years. They just don’t last after the original 2 yr warranty period. One didn’t even last that long and tech support did a trouble shoot over the phone with me and said it was the mother board and the particular part that burnt was not covered under warranty! The gate key pad I have had to replace once- The solar pad has been the only part that has not been replaced. I gave up on mighty mule - not getting another !
Very disappointed in the mighty mule product.

Bad product, worse customer service

Crapped out after a year and a half. Had it installed by a pro and did regular maintenance. Mighty mule's tech support/customer service is not based in America and their English is not understandable. Got no help whatsoever troubleshooting or being able to get a return for a defective product. Done with this brand and moving on.
No, I do not recommend this product.

New generation Gate transmitters have no range!!

We had a mighty mule for years and decided to upgrade when it gave up on life. I was excited to move up to a newer heavier duty model (300's up to 500's) thinking it would be way faster, smother and longer range for opening the gate when I am coming down the road. While the first two do seem better the latter has epically failed. The new fancy 3 button transmitter might as well be mounted next to the transmitter box. I can't even open the gate when the nose of my car is practically touching the gate (box less then 5ft away) or when I am at my front door trying to let someone in (50' away). and yes we have installed the extension on the antenna, it is over 6' up in the air with no obstructions. To say less I am disappointed, especially when the base model cheaper older version with one button reached no problem from further away, and to top it off the their solution to pay another $100 to buy the kit that allows you to open it with your wifi and use your phone.
No, I do not recommend this product.
