Squirrel-X 2.5 lb. X8 Squirrel-Resistant Bird Feeder

As others stated, cannot take apart to clean after a rain, seed got clumped, impossible to use if not in a covered area.

I have owned a few different “squirrel proof” feeders in the past. This one has been fairly effective against the squirrels, but is no match for rain/humidity. I would not buy it again nor would I recommend it if you live in a climate with regular rainfall. Somehow, the seed gets wet and clumps in the feeder. Then, of course, it germinates. The feeder DOES have small holes in the base, but they apparently aren’t large enough for drainage. As far as squirrels go, it is definitely more difficult for them to access the seed, but I do have two who have learned how to slide the sleeve. The top has chew/claw marks in the paint, but the squirrels weren’t actually able to damage the feeder itself. On my past feeders, the squirrels would pull out or chew out the plastic seed dispensers placed over the holes. No problem with that on this one.

The first time it rained it held water and the food clumped together. I couldn't get it out nor could the birds or the squirrels. Waste of $35

Horrible. Can’t clean it, seeds became moldy and grew sprouts. Store won’t take it back because I didn’t save the receipt nor use my phone number at purchase.
