Received 20lb bag as a gift. It's perfect. All seeds intact. Not sure why the negative reviews. This is high quality Safflower. I've been birding for 20 yrs. I know seed.

Bad Batch?

Bag was a mixture of safflower, corn & sunflower seeds. Took back to store and it was explained that it may have been the "end of another run". Got my money back and was given a 10# bag where I could see the contents. Was very pleased with the customer service. Safflower seed is the way to go if you want to eliminate squirrels at your feeder. You will attract cardinals, chickadees, sparrows, finches, bluebirds, and we even have a woodpecker that likes it! The next time, I will cut open the bag prior to purchase because it is a better bargain that the "big box store" in our area. Because the customer service was superior, I will give the seed another try.

Help with a wam of black sparrows

I originally purchased this safflower seed to prevent a swam of sparrows who would not allow all the other birds to eat at the feeders. Well within two days they were gone and the rest of the birds were back.
