Squirrel Trap!

OK, not only is this birdfeeder NOT squirrel proof, but it is also actually a squirrel TRAP. Twice, I had a squirrel dislodge the little clear plastic piece that covers the windows and get INSIDE the feeder. The first time, I was able to open the lid and let him out, and I put the plastic window back, since it has a way to slide back in. The second time, after devouring most of the seed in the feeder, the fat little thing tried to get back out through the little window, and he got stuck. I was trying to get him out, he was screaming, I was screaming, and it was a whole mess. I finally had to get bolt cutters to cut the little window piece to let him out. He was injured from squirming in the little metal window, which made me feel bad, but he did it to himself. I can't be the only one this has ever happened to. To be truly squirrel resistant (I don't think there's any such thing as squirrel proof), the windows would have to be redesigned so the little clear panels can't be removed by little squirrel claws.

Fabulous Feeder

Love watching the birds, hate filling the feeder! This thing holds a LOT of seed, allows plenty of perch spots, and is pleasantly easy to fill. It is also as squirrel resistant as much more expensive and fiddley devices we have tried for years.

Holds a lot of seed but is not squirrel proof. They hang off closing bar and bend it so they can still get at seed

These are the cutest feeders! Plenty of seed capacity. Extremely well made. Appear to be strudy enough that they'll hold up well for many years.
