The SmartStraps Padded Ratchet Tie-Down Straps are used for lighter loads often hauled in a pick-up truck or on a small trailer.     Straps are good. Ratchet handle not so much

    I was using these to secure a transmission to a transmission jack. The straps themselves did fine. The ratcheting part stopped ratcheting in the middle of the repair which required rope to be brought in to take up the tension on the strap so a 200 lb transmission wouldn't fall on my head crushing it like a grape. I would not recommend these straps. Spend the extra money and get better ratchet straps. At least you know it will hold the weight like it should.

    The website says 1500 lb but the real working load is 500 lb. Deceptive.

    The workload is 1/3 of the break strength. Every tie down manufacturer has this same guideline. We will have the Tractor Supply Company update the website to show the safe work load of 500lbs. Thank for bringing this to our attention. SMARTSTRAPS
