Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bugs in Purina Pro Plan I have been feeding my Australian Shepherd/lab mix Purina pro plan focus for almost 2 years now. Bought a large bag last night and brought it home to feed my dog & tons of webs and bugs all over the food. Looks like maggots covering the food. This is unacceptable and there should be a recall until the issue is fixed. I am lucky I caught this but no one should ever buy this food. completely unacceptable. Reviews online showing it is a common issue so it must be fixed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Impressive nutrition I switched my Boxer to this formula on the advice of my veterinary friends, Boxer breeders, and Purina's veterinary nutrition research team. I know of several incidences of fatalities due to taurine deficiencies linked to grain-free diets, with emphasis on lamb as the main protein source. This was exactly the diet that my dog had been on, and he was doing just fine; fit, healthy, great coat, etc. However, why tempt fate, when Purina has done, and continues to do extensive research on canine nutrition? I was worried about palatability, but my four-year-old Boxer loves Purina Pro Plan Focus Adult Large Breed! The cost is comparable to other quality foods, and I'm feeding less with better nutrition. (Plus, less in, less out!) Olaf has a gorgeous coat and skin, no gastrointestinal issues or gas, and I'm relieved to be able to trust in Purina.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from My dogs love it I was feeding my dog pro plan until he got sick of it (he’s very picky) but it was a good diet! I have been hearing a lot of things about taurine and a lack of it affecting dogs hearts and I did not see taurine on the bag so I am kind of glad that I switched him now... it is scary because my mother in laws dog is on this food. I hope it has it in there and it is just under a different name...

My dog is a "large" breed (dalmatian), but she stopped growing at 30 lbs. Do I still get her large breed food or go for one for smaller breeds?
