Q: Do the pellets float on water?

  • A: Hi, Purina Duck Feed pellets are not designed to float and will sink and disintegrate into a mushy consistency when placed in water. To ensure proper nutrition and minimize waste, the manufacturer recommends providing the feed in a dry feeder alongside a separate source of fresh water.

Hard to decide on rating

The duck pellets are good, if you get a good bag. I've been purchasing this food for my geese and guineas for years, in both pellets and crumbles, they love the taste. But recently, the last 8 months, I've had very bad luck with getting bags that have not been mishandled before purchase. Whether this is before the store receives it, or at the store, I do not know; but I shop at 4 different TSC and I've had the issue at all 4. So, I'm thinking it's before the store receives the product. The issue is that the bags or the feed inside the bags, have been exposed to mold. It's inside the bag, so you don't know which bags are moldy until after you've opened them; and sometimes it's the bottom of the bag and not the top, so you don't even notice the mold until you get halfway down the bag.
