- A: The Purina Organic Layer product does not need to have any calcium or grit added. This product will include everything you need for the flock. You may feed it as the sole diet. If you are going to add some scratch grains for the mature birds, then you would limit the amount to 10%, or less, of the total diet and grit should be supplied free choice as well.9 years agoHelpful?

This seems to be a good for. I have 10 healthy chickens and they've been getting this since the beginning. My only complaint is that there's always a good amount of crushed pellets, I mean crushed to powder. That's a waste of money.

Slow delivery on too big of delivery truck.

I ordered (5) 35-lb chicken feed on Jan. 22nd. The Moorpark website said there were 10 bags available. Estimated delivery on Jan. 27th. Delivery made on Jan 30th with a large truck that could not drive into residential streets. One of our employees took his own vehicle and received the 5 bags of chicken feed approximately 1 mile from the delivery address.
Yes, I recommend this product.
