The Farm Innovators 1,250W Ice-Chaser Premium Cast Aluminum Floating Pond De-Icer for 600 gal. Ponds keeps backyard fish ponds from completely freezing over during the winter. The floating pond de-icer features a 1,250W heating element that will keep a small hole open in the ice to allow the escape of toxic gasses caused by fish waste and plant decay. Plugs in with a 10 ft. power supply cord.

Q: I have one of these for my koi pond. If I understand the previously asked and answered questions, this will turn on and off on it's own? Does this prevent the pond from completely freezing? Previously I had a rock looking heater but it stopped working.
