My garage is a monument to DeWalt tools but this is one I hate. It is awkward to hold, not powerful enough to trim simple grass, and constantly feeds more string with the smallest tap. My biggest gripe is that it spins in the opposite direction of all other trimmers I’ve used causing grass and rocks to constantly be thrown at you. The guard is so tiny, it doesn’t block anything. I’ve written support about a larger guard and they do not make one. This was poorly designed and the only DeWalt tool I despise.

These reviews and reviewers are idiotic.I never meant to click like on a comment and could not change it after the fact. In regards to the product, it has never let me down. People complaining about battery life should check the date on their battery before commenting and post proof of whether or not you are using 20V or 60V Dewalt batteries. I just used mine YESTERDAY for over an hour an had no impact on application other than me running through the rest of my 50' worth of wire/string. Get real...this product performs well and under the worst conditions. I have over 15 Dewalt XR tools...

I recently switched from B&D to Dewalt for my essential outdoor tools and have been very pleased with the performance.

The string constantly breaks on mine. I edge for 5 feet, it breaks, spend 5 minutes restringing. Repeat. It’s a pain.
