Carhartt Men's Flame Resistant Traditional Twill Coverall is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 36.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Been a mechanic for 40 years. These are the best coveralls I've found. A big plus for me is being able to reach my pants pockets. Another is having a brass zipper. One speck of hot metal from a welder or grinder will ruin a plastic zipper.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice but not meant for farm work The fit was spot on by the sizing chart and they fit perfectly when I got them. They are very comfortable. They didn’t hold up well at all. In 2 months they started falling apart. The cuffs on both sleeves ripped up and all the seems are starting to ravel. They also rip like tissue paper they don’t hold up to farm work at all. Also the zipper never worked well from day one and still has a bad catch.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product for the price! I like the coverall only complaint I have is the zipper gets stuck in the waist area going up or down. Also remember to accommodate for the clothing you are planning to wear underneath when it comes to size. I have not washed mine yet so I don’t know if the shrink in during a wash cycle.

How hot are they? Are they really thick?

Asked by: Rwrg
This is going to be a mid weight as it is a 9-ounce, FR 100% cotton twill. It isn't going to be too thick or hot but it's not entirely thin.

Where do I measure to get the proper fit? Is it chest or waist?

Asked by: T Romero
According to the vendor, you need to measure your chest and waist. Use the larger of the two to determine the size. If the chest/waist measurements fall between sizes, size up. Measurements assume that coveralls are being worn over clothing.

Can these be used to handle LOX.

Asked by: Sjoyce1967
Per Carhartt: "Our FR garments have not been tested to be used with liquid oxygen (LOX)."

How much bigger then pants size (about) should i get. I would like to get my husband a pair as a gift so i cant really measure without him knowing. He wears size 36 in jeans and large tshirts.

Asked by: Tori20
From Carhartt: "We would suggest you stick with your normal waist size and focus more on the fit. If you are looking for a slimmer fit you should try Straight traditional . If you are looking for a classic or slightly relaxed fit through the seat and thigh you should try Relaxed fit and lastly if you are looking for a loose fit through the seat and thigh our roomiest fit would be Loose Original fit. As for our Shirts and Outerwear if they are Original fit they will run generous were the Relaxed fit are a closer fit to the body."
