Extremely satisfied thus far!

After much consideration of several different UTV's from TSC and other dealers we ended up with the Bighorn 550. It's large cab accommodates my wife, daughter, and myself comfortably with room to spare, ordered an additional seatbelt to install for safety. If you are looking for something to win an award (or get a ticket for exhibition of acceleration) in 1/4 mile racing this is not for you. It is still in break in period so no high speed tests yet, but I believe it will easily reach 40-45 as I've seen on youtube videos. Do your homework before purchasing through the BBB, the other two units that competed with the Bighorn for me had 44 and 37 BBB negative complaints respectfully. Sunright International which seems to be Bighorns parent company has only 2 complaints in 3 years, and is rated A+ even though they are not accredited. I wanted to register my unit for warranty and their website says under construction, I sent a message and someone called me immediately after to register the unit over the phone, I hope I get the same response if I have any warranty issues that need resolve. Lastly, the folks at TSC in Lufkin, Texas were OUTSTANDING! M. Whitaker and her team the night we went in were on top of everything. There was a hiccup with the TSC visa approval and she refused to give up on the transaction until it was resolved, GREAT job Melissa! Their TSC Visa 0% for 48 months was also a HUGE selling point along with positive reviews in going through TSC for the purchase.

Horrible experience

I have made a lot of big purchases from TSC, as it has always been my favorite store.  However, this latest and most expensive turned out to be a huge disappointment.  When I purchased the ATV, I was assured by the manager, that if I ever needed service, I could use a local center in Batesburg, SC.  Turns out that service center closed shortly after.  The first time that I used the ATV for a hunting trip (last week), the 4 Wheel Drive switch quit working, and the steering became nearly impossible due to the front differential remaining engaged.  When I returned home, I took a gamble and dropped it off at a local repairman because he was notoriously quick and very knowledgeable.  He worked on the machine for 2 days and determined the 4X4 switch had gone bad.  He tried to do me the favor of contacting Big Horn to see if they would supply him with a replacement switch.  While in contact with them, Big Horn informed him that they couldn’t just send him a replacement switch, but they’d have to send him an entire new differential.  They also informed him that they’ve had multiple problems with this, and that even after a complete differential replacement, the part would almost certainly go bad again.  They gave us 2 options:  bring the atv to a service center somewhere (not local to me), and it may take them 6 months to a year to repair!!!, or they would send him the differential to replace in his shop. Mind you, he does fantastic work, but he charges $100/hour for labor!  Again, the part would likely go bad again very soon.  So, the most convenient and least expensive option to me was to just have my repairman flip the 4X4 gearing manually into 2 Wheel Drive.  And that cost me $1400!  He was nice enough to only charge me $1000, since he couldn’t give me my 4 Wheel Drive back. When I’ve contacted TSC about this issue, they only refer me to Big Horn, and I’ve already told you Big Horn’s solution.  I am now stuck with a permanent 2 Wheel Drive ATV.  At the very least, I deserve a partial refund for this piece of junk.  I’m already down $1000 to repair a piece of faulty equipment that you knowingly sell in your stores.  This isn’t just a Big Horn issue, it is a TSC issue, and I need for you to make it right.  There is currently a brand new TSC store being built in my little town, and I have been so excited about it.  Up until now.  I have been a loyal neighbor’s club shopper for a long time now.  Please don’t sour my opinion of ever shopping at a TSC store again.  Your timely response to this matter would be greatly appreciated   Thank you.  PS:  I can provide a copy of my most recent shop bill if needed.

Buyer beware!!!

I'm not at all impressed with this vehicle. The first one we picked up had to be returned because the steering wheel would whip back and forth, the exhaust was terrible, and everything vibrated. The second one was much better on the steering and the exhaust, but everything still vibrates and rattles. Less than one year in; the starter is going and the parking brake is not engaging. I did not get the extended warranty and the limited warranty does not cover anything.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Better for a hobby farm than a working one

We have a small farm and purchased this vehicle in July of 2025. I promised my husband I would review it until we gave it a fair shot. To save you time, I will give my over all sense of the machine. If you plan on using it for light duty, i.e. clearing Immediately upon purchase, the brush and leaves once a year, light sno removal, moving feed bags, etc. It's a fine machine, provided you get one that starts on its first day. On the first full day of use the machine would not start. We talked to Tractor Supply and they gave us a new battery. After replacing the battery, it started but would take 2 to 20 tries before it eventually turned over. A second call to Tractor Supply revealed that they did indeed know about a problem that most of this model had which was a faulty starter wire. They then informed us we had to file a warranty claim and get it serviced at the nearest location, which was an hour away. So several weeks after we purchased it we had to send it away for a few weeks to get repaired. Well we were not charged for this repair, I believe it is irresponsible of a company to neglect disclosure of a problem like this. The repair shop was great and he fixed the problem in as soon as he got the parts but we have to rent a trailer to take it to and from the location. Come late fall we ordered the snow plow which was $250 more in October than it was in september. Poor timing in our part I suppose. It was missing a piece so we had to again file a claim with bighorn. It took about three and a half weeks to get the missing part The plow warped on its second use under the weight of about 4 in of heavier snow. The final straw is the engine overheated while we were plowing, it had been running for 20 minutes, and melted the head cap. The machine now will not move, so we are assuming the drive belt is toast. We now have a another warranty claim and I am happy to update this review when we find out whether or not they want to fix these issues under warranty. Or if we have to pay for it. Overall, it's a fine machine but don't plan on using it for anything heavy duty.

No, I do not recommend this product.

If you buy this Be advised you're on your own. Starter went out with less than 50 Miles.. Filed a warranty claim the lady said they would get back to me. Never called. I called multiple times no answer. Leave message no call back.Tech Support is non-existent. Finally gave Up ordered parts on line and fixed it myself. Look on Facebook big horn group. This is a common problem.
