- A: Hello, thank you for your question. Behlen Country does not install drains on any of their shallow tanks as the sidewalls are too short to allow a bulkhead fitting to be installed. In most cases these tanks can easily be tipped over to drain. If that is not the case a bucket can be used to pail out water until it can be lifted and turned over.10 months agoHelpful?

- A: Behlen Country does not install drains on any of their shallow tanks as the sidewalls are too short to allow a bulkhead fitting to be installed. In most cases these tanks can easily be tipped over to drain. If that is not the case a bucket can be used to pail out water until it can be lifted and turned over.3 years agoHelpful?
Q: Can you install a shut off valve in the drain hole? If so what size Shut up Valve.

- A: All of the Behlen Country shallow galvanized tanks do not have a drain plug. The tall triangle galvanized tank does have a drain plug. On the standard drain plug/bulkhead fitting for the 24” tall galvanized tanks…. We use a ¾” – 14 NPSH threaded plug. You would need to get a spigot with this thread to screw into the bulkhead fitting. You would need to use some Teflon tape for sealing. It is possible to place your own bulkhead fitting/plug into the shallow triangle tank. The bulkhead fitting that we use is too big.. you would need to use a smaller one to work on the bottom-flat portion of the side wall.3 years agoHelpful?
