This fence charger runs up to 2 weeks without sunlight and is powered by an internal rechargeable battery. With 0.15 output joules, it supports a variety of animals and livestock, such as cattle, horses, pigs and goats, and energizes up to 10 miles of fencing. This electric fence charger includes a built-in battery monitor, which allows you to keep track of your battery's health. With a quick glance, you'll be able to determine if your battery is going bad or your charger just needs a better angle. A durable case helps protect the energizer against the elements. To prepare this solar-powered electric fence charger for first use, place the unit in full sun for 3 days in the off position. After this charging period, the unit is ready to use and install. Set the charger's patented mounting bracket onto a T-post or wood post. If you are not getting a voltage reading on the fence, we recommend checking the fence and ground connections, making sure the ground rod is installed properly, and testing the charger directly at the terminals with the fence disconnected. NOT FOR CATTLE - only 0.15 joules

NOT FOR CATTLE- this charger os only 0.15 joules and far under the needed 5+ joules needed to contain cattle. Why it is marketed for cattle makes no sense. Even with over 6kV and no faults cattle just push through it. Might work for gardens/varmits but I wouldn’t recommend for livestock of any kind.
No, I do not recommend this product.

This energizer is designed for smaller fencing applications, and for best results the fence line should be free of weeds or debris, properly grounded, and matched to the intended containment needs. If customers are working with larger or more determined livestock, a higher output energizer may be a better fit.

Died in under a year. No customer service

We had ours for 10 months and it is completely dead. It won't charge and doesn't put off any currency through the fence wire. American Farm Works does not have their number listed on their website and the email address does not work. I would not recommend using this company. I also feel that if Tractor Supply is going to sell a product that claims to have a 3 year warranty, they could do a little better helping us resolve this problem.
