Pipe Bibbs
Every outdoor faucet or hose connection needs a valve that holds up over time. These specialized pipe fittings, known as pipe bibbs, attach directly to your water supply line and give you a controlled shutoff right where the hose connects. Tractor Supply carries models sized and threaded to fit the most common residential setups.
Hose Fixtures Built for Dependable Water Control
Pipe bibbs are simple valves — turn the handle, and water flows; turn it back, and it stops. They thread onto a home water supply line and connect to a garden hose at the other end through a standard 3/4 in. outlet. Most residential plumbing systems use copper, galvanized steel or CPVC plastic pipe, and our bibbs work with all three. Our selection also holds up well against rust and normal home water pressure, which is why brass is the default material for these fittings.
Standard and No-Kink Hose Bibb Styles
Where and how a hose connects to the spigot affects how long the fitting lasts. A straight-outlet bibb, the standard style, works fine when your hose hangs directly down from the fitting. If your hose runs sideways or at a steep angle, that tension transfers to the joint every time you hook up or disconnect. No-kink models solve that problem with a downward-angled outlet that redirects the stress away from the connection point. For Life Out Here, keeping the right pipe fittings stocked, including pipe plugs to seal off open pipe ends before winter, keeps your water system in good shape season after season.
MIP and FIP Inlet Thread Types
Most hose bibb installations in homes use either male iron pipe (MIP) or female iron pipe (FIP) threads. MIP threads are on the outside of the fitting and screw into a threaded wall opening. FIP threads are on the inside and fit over a threaded pipe coming from the wall. Knowing which type you need makes it easier to buy the correct part. If the bibb and pipe stub have different thread types, use a pipe adapter to connect them without modifying your existing pipe.
